Bill Piercey, K.C.
Bill was born in Halifax and received his Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Dalhousie University in 1969 and 1971 respectively. He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society in 1972 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1988. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Atlantic Trial Lawyers Association.
Bill's preferred areas of practice are civil litigation, including commercial, employment, real estate and estate litigation, personal injury , and wills and estate administration. He has appeared in all levels of Courts in Nova Scotia.
Outside of his legal practice, Bill is President and Chief Executive Officer of Piercey Investors Limited, a local real estate development company. Bill has served as former Chair of the 3rd Armdale Group Committee of the Boy Scouts Association, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Halifax. He is currently a member of the Royal United Services Institute of Nova Scotia ("RUSI") supporting Canada's defence and security, and is an honorary member of the Board of Governors of the Army Museum, Halifax. Bill also serves as the Chair of the Executive Board of Bethany United Church, Halifax.
In his leisure time, Bill likes to canoe and kayak Nova Scotia's waterways and bike along the Province's trails and back roads.
